Jack's Little Log Cabin offers log living in a peaceful and private wooded country setting 4 miles from Steelville and 12 miles from Cuba or St. James.
Come on out, relax and enjoy some rest and restoration on the property or take on some of the many adventures of the nearby area. There is a cozy front porch with view of Meramec River valley (and sometimes the cows) through the trees. You can enjoy a private bedroom with queen size log bed and all necessary linens. There is a gathering room with satellite TV. The cabin is furnished with a kitchenette area with sink, fridge, microwave, toaster oven and cooking utensils should you decide to prepare a meal.
Relax on the large deck in rear with hot tub, table and charcoal grill should you wish to unwind or barbecue in the shade of the tall pines. Get back to the basics with a fire pit in the back including fire wood for your evening or early morning campfire.
Upper Meramec River is just one mile further down Thurman Lake Rd. Scotts Ford conservation has a large parking lot and access to the river.

For a couples cabin we had very enjoyable time. This is our second time staying at this cabin and we have had a very enjoyable time both times we have stayed there , September 2024
This is our 3rd trip back to Jack's cabin. We love the location and privacy. The cabin is the perfect size and has everything we need. This time some of the jets were not working on the hot tub which was a little disappointing. Other than that we had a nice, relaxing weekend. , November 2023

What a wonderful little cabin. Very quiet setting, close to the river, close to hiking trails and various parks. My wife and I have been very stressed lately and just needed to get somewhere quiet and in the country to get away from the big city. It was so very relaxing to sit out in the hot tub in the evening listening to the night time country sounds and the roasting some marshmellows over the firepit. This was just what we needed to forget about all of the troubles in the world. My 2 dogs were very happy to be there too and there was a lot of tail wagging going on. , September 2020
Absolutely Perfect. The cabin was very clean. Had everything you need in a kitchen except the food, even spices in the cabinet. We brought our dog who had a great time at the river, she slept each night like a baby. The hot tub was wonderful. We will definately be coming back. , July 2020

The back deck and front porch are both gated so it’s perfect for bringing dogs! The hot tub was clean, big and the best part of the stay! We really enjoyed hiking at Onandaga State Park with our pups and grilling on the patio and soaking in the hot tub at the end of the day. We stayed here for our anniversay. Left the kids with grandma and took the dogs. Cabin was easy to find. It is close to a paved road, but think nor more than a dozen cars went by the whole weekend. Everything was clean and there was a nice electric heater running in the bedroom when we arrived. With that and the electric fireplace in living room, we were plenty warm. We took the dogs on a walk, then came back and built a fire outside and sat and enjoyed the quiet surroundings. Loved that the front porch and back deck had gates so dogs could hang out. Hot tub was nice and clean, a couple jets not working, but not a big deal. We would definitely stay there again. It was perfect for a couple! , October 2018
We absolutely loved our time at Jack's Little Log Cabin! The cabin is very clean and comfortable. The owners have done a wonderful job furnishing it with just about everything you might need for a weekend getaway. We spent our days exploring the area (many great wineries... be sure and visit Heinrichshaus!) and our evenings relaxing on the front porch, back deck, and (of course) the hot tub.
